District Nursing
Why would you need a District Nurse?
- Nursing care, education and referrals to Allied Health Services
- Nursing support after an operation or illness
- Wound care
- Hygiene Assistance
- Medication Management
- Palliative care (End of life care)
Our district nurses are:
- Nurses who provide nursing care to people in their own homes.
How to access this service:
- By a doctor's referral
- Family, carers and friends can ring and ask to speak to the District Nurses
- Referral from local and other hospitals
- Visiting relatives can be referred by other district nursing services
District Nursing Fees:
- Are guided by The Department of Human Services under the Home and Community Care (HACC)
fee and self assessment policy - The concession fee is $2.95 per visit. That can be adjusted according to circumstances for the Department of Veteran Affairs (DVA) clients - fees are subsidised by DVA
Hours
- Monday to Friday - 8.00am to 4.30pm
- Weekends - 8.00am to 12.00midday
